I like the whole VMWare idea, this is a no-brainer in terms of implementation for any small to medium sized environment, especially since the whole clustered thing is really easy to implement and requries no spearate instalaltion whatsoever. I will be looking ito the cluster part as well, but only after i have some testing time on a single device under my belt.

Arthur!

Thanks for chiming in. Thanks for pointing out the 90 vs. 60 days - I mistyped somewhere and then went on with 2 months i/o three. I was going to mention the part with the product being free for certain business partners later - you beat me to the punch ;) I like the product, but I really want a separate download for Linux based environmentnts even if the files contained are actually exactlly the same - it takes away allot of the hassle for us Linux people; let the windows people suffer if they have to - I am selfish that way ... lol

Hi Victor -- I'm the Lotus PM on Protector. Thanks for taking a look at this.... Couple points:

-- The .exe was a requirement because Windows wasn't properly unzipping the big zip file we had up originally (yeah irony there.... I'm a Linux guy too).

-- The free trial is actually for 90 days not 60. During install you're asked for a key and if you don't enter it, the clock starts on the 90 days. If a customer purchases one or more licenses, the IBM Customer Number (ICN) becomes the key.

-- Note that the software itself doesn't need a key or trial; that just controls the continuous signature and software updates that keep you proteced against newspam and virus threats.

-- Business partners get Protector for Mail Security as part of their "Run Your Business" entitlement (if your plan qualifies); just request a key from the left navigator in the Software Access Catalog.

-- IBMers can request a key from the left navigator of the XL Download site.

Thanks again for checking out Protector for Mail Security!

Arthur Fontaine
