Follow-up: Sametime client install causes IE7 error - SPR# NRID7FXP9W

I recently blogged about a peculiar error connected to Sametime Connect client installs here.  I was in a meeting with the client and the IBM support team yesterday regarding this.

It looks like IBM was able to get a handle on the issue and work with Microsoft (the maker of InstallShield, the program that actually causes the issue) and isolated the problem and was able to work around it. They are currently working on an updated setup.exe and setup.msi file for both V 8.0 and 8.0.1 that IBM will be offering as a HF. ETA is sometime within the next 2 weeks (they are in the process of QA on the changes).

Again, most shops will never need this HF and the standard Sametime Connect client install will be just fine. Unless you have run into the error I outlines you will never need it - rest easy and don't rush to IBM asking of the HF, you won't get it unless you need it anyway.
